Roads to connection

ARTICLELange, Anna de - 44–4 (2006)

SUMMARY

Person-centered psychotherapy is an excellent way to help people on their road from neurotic fear to attachment and a feeling of safety in life. This road, that can be called therapeutic as well as spiritual, means to connect with an inner truth that is present in everybody. Traveling this road, exploring the shadowy areas, and through there to overcome the neurotic 'I', will lead to both a more authentic and a more universal way of life.
In this context the client-centered perspectives of Rogers will be discussed, as well as Durckheim's therapy.

KEYWORDS

attachment, fear and guilt, intention and spirituality

The tPeP (Journal Person-centered experiential Psychotherapy) is the scientific journal for Dutch and Flemish psychotherapists, psychologists, and psychiatrists, that work from, or are interested in a client-centered perspective.
