Therapy manuals are part of the standards of RCT studies in psychotherapy research. They are supposed to guarantee the application of a defined treatment. So - although everybody is convinced to know the ingredients of a client-centered psychotherapy and that they are always the same whatever the problems of a client might be – in conducting this study we felt obliged to give a guideline in the form of a manual to the psychotherapists. A short desciption of the phenomenon we call adjustment disorder as well as a short - client-centered - description of the inner world of a person suffering from an adjustment disorder would – in addition - possibly help the therapist in his efforts to give unconditional positive regard to the client and his therapeutic process – and its termination after 12 hours.
