How evidence-based can a client-centered therapy be?

ARTICLETakens, Roelf Jan - 41–1 (2003)

SUMMARY

In this article the author firstly explains what an evidence-based practice involves and how to carry out evidence based searches. To what extent are client-centered therapies evidence-based? And what are the consequences for the recognition of client-centered therapy as a fullbodied type of treatment? Moreover, can these type of treatments ever become evidence based considering the problems connected to the execution of Randomized Clinical Trials? In conclusion some research strategies are proposed with a view to a more evidence-based client-centered practice.
