Psychotherapy as caring for the soul

ARTICLELeijssen, Mia - 45–3 (2007)

SUMMARY

Spiritual oriented psychotherapy is rooted in timeless philosophy, which provides insights in man's nature. We start with a picture of the experience of the soul, or the mystic dimension of human perception. This is followed by a description of the therapist’s own experiences with spiritual evolution, after which is explained how care for the client’s soul in psychotherapy can be put into practice. By way of conclusion we focus on some elements that might be part of a personal program to take care of the soul.
