In this article I report on the first, preliminary experiences that I had with monitoring as a participating therapist. Since 2003 I have been involved with the preparations for a survey on monitoring that has been initiated by the Erasmus University, Rotterdam, and that has started in the second half of 2006. I look into the available opportunities for (client centered) psychotherapists. I describe the first experiences with monitoring from the perspective of the practitioner, and based on two case histories I raise a couple of questions about the relation between the results according to the questionnaire and the factual development of the therapy.
The tPeP (Journal Person-centered experiential Psychotherapy) is the scientific journal for Dutch and Flemish psychotherapists, psychologists, and psychiatrists, that work from, or are interested in a client-centered perspective.
