This article opens with a summary of Grawe’s (1998-2004) therapy theory. His theory is set out to be a metatheory. This is followed by a critical comparison between his basic assumptions and those that traditionally form the foundation of the client-centered approach. An attempt is made to make plausible that Grawe’s theory as a metatheory could indeed offer a clearer, better foundation and expansion to our client-centered theory and therapy, leaving enough room to maintain our proper signature.
The tPeP (Journal Person-centered experiential Psychotherapy) is the scientific journal for Dutch and Flemish psychotherapists, psychologists, and psychiatrists, that work from, or are interested in a client-centered perspective.
