Differentiation therapy, Phase therapy, Basic therapy. Treatments for attachment problems

ARTICLEThoomes-Vreugdenhil, Anniek - 48–1 (2010)

SUMMARY

From the practice of psychotherapy, and from a perceived distinction in appearance, three ways to treat attachment problems were developed. Distinctive manifestations lead to distinct typification of attachment or relational disturbances. The three treatments are differentiated into approaches for children and approaches for adults, and are supported by attachment theory and research into attachment problems, e.g., on the relation between attachment and self image. The three treatments comprise a mentalization process.
