Coaching, a client-centered approach

ARTICLEHaas, Olaf de, & Snijder, Annemarie - 48–1 (2010)

SUMMARY

In this article we discuss a client-centered approach to coaching. For experienced client-centered therapists it has become increasingly clear that Rogers’ basic attitudes, combined with the client-centered approach to dialogue, can prove to be very useful even outside a therapeutic setting. For Olaf de Haas it was therefore a logical step to expand his professional scope from psychotherapy, supervision and educational therapy to coaching, which he has been doing since halfway the nineties. Since 1997 he is, next to his practice as a client-centered psychotherapist, active as a coach to managers and professionals in business as well as healthcare.
