A changing life perspective is an age-specific aspect of psychotherapy with older adults. We describe how a changing life perspective may be integrated into treatment. This is illustrated by means of vignettes on how changing life perspectives can cause psychological distress, and how integration of life review is therapeutic, no matter the theoretical orientation of therapy. Expressive arts techniques seem to be powerful. Further research is recommended. It is concluded that a changing life perspective is an important integrative aspect of psychotherapy with older adults.
