Jealousy, the spider in the attachment web

ARTICLELibbrecht, Hilde - 50–1 (2012)

SUMMARY

Jealousy usually is seen as disastrous for love. Through a brief introduction and a discussion
of recent research, the author aims to show that jealousy is a crucial and probably initiating
mechanism for attachment. Based on the same information, the classic Kleinian distinction
between envy and jealousy is questioned, in which the first is assumed to be a building block
for the second.
