‘Of the thousand experiences we live through during our lives, we mention at the most only a
couple. Among those experiences never uttered are also those that, whilst being unnoticed,
provide our lives with shape, color, and melody.’ This sentence from Night train to Lisbon by
Pascal Mercier (2006), made the author take a new look at how he relates to Pesso Therapy,
the place of Pesso Therapy in current practice, the thoughts that underlie Pesso Therapy,
which clients to present for Pesso Therapy, and what he does with Pesso Therapy as a psychotherapist.
By means of this article the authors brings Pesso Therapy to the reader’s attention
as a colorful and resounding individual psychotherapeutic approach in a group setting,
that helps enable a desperate client that got stuck in life, to, not alone but together with real
people of flesh and blood in the role of significant others, start notice his own shape, color,
and melody.
The tPeP (Journal Person-centered experiential Psychotherapy) is the scientific journal for Dutch and Flemish psychotherapists, psychologists, and psychiatrists, that work from, or are interested in a client-centered perspective.
