‘Singing in the marrow bone’: werken met emotie binnen partnerrelatietherapie

ARTICLEJohnson, Susan - 51–1 (2013)

SUMMARY

Increasingly, research in neuroscience reveals the importance of emotion as a primary organizing
power that determines how people interact with one another. Even within therapeutic
approaches that do recognize the importance of emotions, the power of emotion is by far
not always used optimally to induce change. This article illustrates how Emotionally Focused
Therapy offers a model to understand the emotional ‘dance’ between partners from emotion
and attachment theory, and to bring substantial change.
