This article aims to initiate the discussion about and exploration of applying process-oriented counseling in working with normally intelligent adults that suffer from autism spectrum disorders (ASD). After concisely defining concepts like process, experiencing, and authentic living, these concepts are applied to the treatment of normally intelligent adults wits ASD: An initial treatment of symptoms that does not stop after treating the symptom, but is followed up by working on the subsequent existential questions about life. This is elaborated on along the lines of a practice-based case history.
