Technology and time

SUMMARY

In this paper we look at how the developments in modern electronic technologies might influence the way we experience our time while using those. A central role is given to notions as the acceleration, compression, and fragmentation of time, and to a stronger focus on the present.
This first version delves mainly into the theoretical background. As far as possible, the findings will then be placed in the framework of a changing image of the person that seeks our help, a change to which in the future we should adapt our offer of care.
