Client-centered Group Psychotherapy, 6 theses put to the test. A contribution out of the practice

ARTICLEMissiaen, Claude - 39–2 (2001)

SUMMARY

Six theses of the theory of the client-centered psychotherapy are put to the test by the practice.
Trusting the group is an everlasting mission for the group psychotherapist. In this article the group is redefined in terms of the concept of space. Special attention is asked for the mechanism of transference, and the study of group dynamics is warmly recommended.
Client-centered group psychotherapy sometimes has a very individual focus, and is more inviting to give rise to vulnerability and weakness than to agression and difference
