ARTICLELietaer, Germain, Van Broeck, Nady, Dekeyser, Matthias, Stroobants, Rob, & Trijsburg, Wim - 43–3 (2005)

SUMMARY

As part of a survey research 577 therapists of psychoanalytic, cognitive-behavioral, client-centered/experiential and systemic orientation described an ongoing therapy. The main findings refer to the folllowing topics: DSM description of the client sample, goals and therapist interventions. High similarities were found among the different orientations as to the goals of therapy. In regard to therapist interventions we found no differences as to facilitative and psychodynamic interventions. Clear differences on the contrary were found on autority interventions and experiential interventions; very striking differences were found on psychoanalytic interventions and on five types of interventions stemming from the cognitive-behavioral orientation.
