Short if possible, long when it is necessary. The principles, theory and interventions of Milton H. Erickson, as an addition or a possible integration with solution focused, client-centered theory

ARTICLEBenniks, Hans L. - 41–4 (2003)

SUMMARY

This article wants to endorse short term methods within client-centered therapy that are focused on solution.
There are certain developments that are pointing in that direction, as, for example, the increase of EBT (Evidence Based Therapies).
In this light we investigate to what extent integration with the ideas of Milton H. Erickson is possible.
Ignoring these new developments could have a negative effect on the reimbursement of the therapist within the system of client-centered therapy.
